Guidizzolo Cycling Club Announces 2001 Race Calendar and Events

Anyone who truly loves cycling never stops. Even during these rather cold days, you may still encounter some cyclists, well wrapped up, intent on training to prepare for the major challenges of the upcoming season.

We are not talking about professionals but rather “luxury” amateurs who alternate these outings, often on Sundays, with a visit to the gym to tone their muscles after the gastronomic “escapades” at the end of the year and possibly also do spinning, their current form of exercise.

Among all this, the members of Ciclo Club 77 Guidizzolo are second to none: you can always find some of their jerseys.

Program of Events for 2001

Meanwhile, the board of directors, chaired by Claudio Cervi, has prepared the schedule of events for the year 2001, which opens with the “9th Trofeo Colli Morenici,” a mountain bike race scheduled for April 8 in Cavriana.

On July 12, during the week of the Guidizzolo Fair, the 10th edition of the “Trofeo Pro Loco” will take place. This is a night track-type race reserved for juniors and beginners; on July 22, the “14th Trofeo Arcobaleno,” a race for very young cyclists, will be held, in which a team from Ciclo Club 77 Guidizzolo also competes successfully.

On September 9, the traditional social race, now in its 24th edition, will take place on the Guidizzolo-Birbesi-Guidizzolo route; many are already “warming up their engines” for this event.

Finally, on November 1, the mountain bike race “2nd Trofeo Città di Rebecco” will be repeated. Alongside these official events, there are always long Sunday rides discovering new and old roads, where the “race is always open.”
