Health and Cardiovascular Disease Prevention: Initiatives at Lake Garda
On the occasion of World Heart Day, celebrated on September 29, ASST Garda, in collaboration with the Onda Foundation, has organized the **(H)Open Week** dedicated to cardiovascular diseases, scheduled from September 26 to October 2. This event aims to raise awareness among the population about health prevention and the early diagnosis of conditions such as abdominal aortic aneurysm, heart attack, and valvular diseases. An informative meeting will be held at the Hospital of Desenzano on September 29 at 6:30 PM, while cardiological visits for women with a history of myocardial infarction will take place at the Hospital of Manerbio on October 1 and at the Hospital of Gavardo on October 2, by appointment only. Roberta Chiesa, General Director of ASST Garda, emphasizes the importance of the initiative, highlighting that cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death worldwide, particularly affecting women after menopause. “It is essential to promote primary prevention through healthy lifestyles and timely diagnosis,” says Chiesa, drawing attention to individuals with known risk factors. This initiative represents a crucial opportunity to enhance awareness regarding cardiovascular health in the local community. Italian Version
