BEDIZZOLE, HEROIC RESCUE OF A DROWNED CHILD AT AIRONE PARK On Sunday afternoon, around 2:30 PM, an eleven-year-old boy of Ukrainian descent, residing in Salò, nearly drowned while playing with friends at Airone Park. The child fell into the stream while trying to retrieve a ball that had landed in the water and, despite his swimming abilities, was overwhelmed by the strong current. A 26-year-old Albanian man noticed the critical situation and jumped in to provide assistance.
The rescue took place after both had been swept away by the current for over 700 meters, ending up near a nearby roundabout. Emergency services were alerted and arrived at the scene, with neither of them requiring hospitalization. The situation concluded with relief for the boy’s parents and applause for the courageous rescuer, with the ball ultimately recovered at the end of the incident.
