During the celebrations for the seventieth anniversary of the Republic Day, held in Colà, the Municipality of Lazise awarded honors from the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic to several citizens. The ceremony began with a parade from the Alpini headquarters on Via Valle, accompanied by the Sona Musical Band, and included the raising of the flag at the monument to the fallen in Piazza Don Vantini. Mayor Damiano Bergamini emphasized the significance of this commemorative moment related to liberation and the Constitution, followed by remarks from the youth mayor, Gloria Eccher, who highlighted the importance of the 1946 referendum vote.
During the event, commemorative medals were awarded to approximately thirty recipients residing and working in the municipality, including one Grand Officer, one Commander, six Officers, and twenty-four Knights. The mayor expressed satisfaction with the participation of the honorees and the attending public. Sergio Bazerla, the national president of one of the associations of the honorees, thanked the mayor for the initiative and provided details regarding the honors awarded annually by the President of the Republic.
