Horizon Lake Garda Music Festival in Torbole Faces Environmental Backlash Over Venue Choice
Horizon Lake Garda Music Festival, an electronic music event, is scheduled for 12 and 13 June 2026 on the Alle Foci del Sarca beach in Torbole. A few days before the festival, an open letter signed by the Federation for the Recognition of the Rights of Lake Garda and the Coordinating Interregional for the Protection of Garda was published, addressed to organizers and participants to raise environmental concerns about the location choice.
In the letter, the associations say they welcome the concerts but ask that events not take place at the Sarca mouths. They cite worries about acoustic and light pollution, soil contamination, and effects on local flora and fauna (wind patterns, birds, fish, and reed beds), recalling past controversies over seaside events and urging alternative organizational approaches and the staging of “ethical” events. The communication is signed by the two organizations.
