Ichtya Clinches Third Victory in Lake Sebino Rowing Race

Iseo. Ichtya unstoppable even on Lake Sebino. Easily establishing themselves in the first heat, the rowers of Peschiera (Paolo Tacconi, Massimo Raimondi, Stefano and Osvaldo Mazzurega) then secured the decisive race which served as the evening’s prize.

A third consecutive victory giving Ichtya an eight-point lead in the standings over bissa Garda and a twenty-point advantage over Bardolino. Bardolino was unable to qualify for the final race in Iseo as they finished only third in the heat won by Garda, followed by Portesina, with Birba (Lazise) in fourth place and Preonda (Bardolino) in fifth.

Nevertheless, the rowers from Centro Nautico remain optimistic, aiming to defend themselves against the attacks of pursuer boats in the next race in Gargnano (Saturday 14), while awaiting the return of Bruno Maffezzoli, the first rower to rest due to a knee injury.

Race and crowd attendance

“The goal remains to stay within the top group,” states Luciano Montresor, “the one of the six bisses competing in the final for the Lake Flag.” The lakeside promenade was packed on Sunday evening in Iseo, following the postponement of the event the day before due to the storm that swept across Lombardy. The crowd was truly excited when the local crews took to the water, with Clusanina narrowly beating Foscarina (Gardone), followed by Sebina and more distantly, Regina Adelaide (Garda), Benacense Ca’ da Mosto.

The final was thrilling, with a head-to-head race between Ichtya‘s first position just ahead of Garda by one second, followed in order by Clusanina, Portesina, Serenissima, and Foscarina.
