Illness at Torbole: timely rescue and emergency response
Torbole experienced moments of concern on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 24, when a diver was found unconscious by the roadside along State Road 240, near the Calcarolle Tunnel. The alert was raised by some passersby who, noticing the man in distress, immediately contacted emergency services through the single emergency number 112. The volunteer firefighters from Riva del Garda were the first to arrive on the scene, using a semi-automatic defibrillator, followed by medical personnel and an emergency doctor. The diver, who had been diving alone, was stabilized at the site of the incident and subsequently airlifted to the hospital in Trento.
