Impostors Impersonate Carabinieri to Scam Hoteliers and Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when phoning hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to arm magazines.

These are not military personnel, but impostors who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement authorities.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the genuine Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect being targeted by individuals who,

if they have received money, do not show up again.
