Impostors Impersonate Police to Scam Medio and Alto Garda Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, proposing magazine subscriptions from the armed forces.

These are not military personnel, but impostors who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, fire brigade, or Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often offer subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have no connection to the authorities.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
