The new headquarters of the Blood Donation Unit in Cunettone was inaugurated on Saturday, marking an important initiative promoted by the AVIS organizations of Salò, Gavardo, and Valtenesi. The center will be operational from Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 11 AM, with the possibility of extraordinary collections during the weekends. Thanks to this new facility, donating whole blood or plasma becomes simpler and quicker, providing a modern and accessible environment for donors. The management of the site involves collaboration between the staff of the provincial AVIS and that of the ASST of Garda, with the aim of increasing plasma donations, which are essential for various medical treatments.
Roberta Chiesa, General Director of ASST Garda, emphasized the importance of the synergy between ASST and AVIS in achieving regional collection goals. Gabriele Pagliarini, President of the Provincial AVIS of Brescia, highlighted the contribution of the Brescia sections and local businesses in making this project a reality. The new headquarters not only represents a significant step forward in the reorganization of transfusion services but also offers an opportunity for local donors to actively contribute to the health of the community through blood donation.
