Inclusive sailing in Desenzano: triumph of the Anffas Foundation
The Anffas Foundation of Desenzano-Rivoltella celebrated a significant achievement with the victory of Team 2 at the Interprovincial Championship for sailors with disabilities, recently held in Desenzano. This event, part of the initiative “Unveiling Without Barriers”, saw the crew, consisting of educator Sara Rizzini and sailors Alessandro Tuterti and Valentino Boschetto, also win the inaugural Memorial Cino Anelli, in honor of the former mayor who supported the project. The podium was also graced by the Cooperativa Collaboriamo from Leno and Fobap Anffas from Brescia, both finishing in second place with equal points.
The event took place in the bay, featuring eight teams made up of two individuals with disabilities, an educator, and an observer, fostering an atmosphere of commitment and cohesion through trials aboard J24 boats. Beyond the competition, participants enjoyed communal moments such as a shared lunch and a magic show. The awards ceremony was attended by institutional figures including Deputy Mayor Pietro Avanzi and former Mayor Rosa Leso. Gianluigi Zeni, president of the Anffas Foundation Desenzano, emphasized the educational and social importance of the project, demonstrating how inclusive sailing can represent a true opportunity for growth for everyone.
