Starting from the next season, Sirmione will implement a significant increase in the tourist tax, with an overall rise of approximately 20% across all categories. The resolution, recently approved by the municipality, stipulates that holiday homes will experience the most substantial increase, rising from €1.50 to €2.80 per night. This decision was made following discussions with local trade associations, highlighting the need to adjust rates in light of the future requirements of the area.
As for hotel establishments, variable increases are anticipated: from €0.90 to €1.10 for one-star hotels and up to an increase from €3.50 to €4.20 for five-star hotels. Tourist residences will also see an increase in their tourist tax. Minor adjustments will affect holiday villages and camping areas. The new rates will come into effect during the upcoming tourist season.
