A wounded golden eagle was rescued on Monte Spino, thanks to the intervention of the Provincial Police of Brescia. The alert was triggered when a hiker noticed the bird of prey flying erratically in the Fobiola area, unable to gain altitude and landing in a nearby forest. After contacting the authorities, the police dispatched a patrol, supported by a local former officer who informed the managers of the Rifugio Pirlo to monitor the area.
Upon arrival, the officers located the eagle after a brief search and were able to capture it safely. The bird was immediately transported to the CRAS (Wild Animal Recovery Center) in Valpredina, where Dr. Mauri diagnosed a fracture in its right wing and a state of severe debilitation. Commander Dario Saleri expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the rescue, highlighting the importance of wildlife recovery operations in the province, which sees over 2,000 interventions each year. Once rehabilitated, the eagle will be released back into its natural habitat.
