International Torchlight Procession Honors 1859 Battle of Solferino

A torchlight procession on the hills of the Gardesano hinterland, from Solferino to Castiglione, retracing the path of the soldiers wounded during the battle of June 24, 1859. This is the program of the torchlight event open to everyone, organized by the Centro Vitivinicolo Bresciano – Museo Internazionale della Croce Rossa, based in via Garibaldi, Castiglione delle Stiviere, which embodies the secular idea of solidarity and peace worldwide.

The event reaches its eighth edition and will take place from tomorrow until June 25. Participation has increased each year, reaching nearly 4,000 participants last year.

Currently, about 1,500 people are registered for the torchlight procession, which, in this edition, has a decidedly international character, with the presence of around twenty foreign delegations.
