A tragic incident has struck the community of Arco, where a 39-year-old woman, Zoe Anne Guaitivić, passed away during a pregnancy that appeared to be progressing without complications. The young mother lost her life on the night of May 4th to 5th at the Santa Chiara Hospital in Trento, along with the child she was carrying for five months. In the wake of this tragedy, the family has filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Trento, seeking clarity on the circumstances surrounding her death and initiating an investigation for involuntary manslaughter.
The document, signed by criminal lawyer Luna Fiorentina Panteca on behalf of her brother James Guaitivić, was submitted on May 7th to Deputy Prosecutor Giorgio Bocciarelli. The ongoing investigation, which is currently open against unknown individuals, focuses on a possible fulminant bacterial infection that may have affected Zoe. Meanwhile, the provincial health authority has begun internal checks as the Prosecutor’s Office seeks to accurately reconstruct every detail regarding the hospitalization and care received by the woman. The situation remains delicate, and the family’s questions continue to go unanswered.
