The Caseificio Sociale Valsabbino in Sabbio Chiese continues to blend tradition and innovation in the production of typical cheeses from Valsabbia. Founded in 1982 by a group of farmers, the company is investing 600,000 euros to mechanize its production processes, improving working conditions and the quality of its dairy products. Among the new developments is the installation of a 100 kW photovoltaic system and a charging station for electric cars, highlighting its commitment to environmental sustainability.
In 2024, the dairy saw a 10% increase in milk processing compared to the previous year, transforming over 40,000 quintals into fresh and aged cheeses. Sales have grown significantly, with a 25% increase in 2023 and stabilization throughout 2024. The Caseificio Sociale Valsabbino is dedicated to preserving local cheesemaking traditions through products such as mozzarella, burrata, and Nostrano Valsabbino, while also contributing to the protection of the landscape and biodiversity in the area.
