Isabel Grüneisen’s Nocturno Exhibition Opens in Salò

Inaugurated yesterday in the Sala dei Provveditori of the Palazzo Municipale in Salò, the painting exhibition of Isabel Grüneisen (‘Nocturno’), who returns to exhibit in Italy just a few months after her first solo show in Milan.

The exhibition, curated by Anna Piva and Luisa Ronchi, remains open until August 28; opening hours: 17:00-22:00.

Born in Buenos Aires on November 21, 1965, Grüneisen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Università di Ashland, Ohio, U.S.A., attended the plastic arts school at Cristina Santander’s studio in Argentina, and completed the course “Pensamiento y Creatividad” led by Fermin Fèvre.

Artistic Characteristics and Approach

She has been described as spontaneous, immediate in gestures, sometimes brutal in strokes, yet passionate, powerful, and creative.

She managed to establish her creative talents in a very short time, arousing curiosity and interest among critics, collectors, and art enthusiasts alike.

Nature is the nourishment that fuels Isabel’s inspiration, translating into color combinations of exceptional energetic strength.

Color is layered repeatedly until forming a dense, rough mass in which nature appears to come alive again.

The artist uses it in a astonishing manner: pairings, gradations, and overlays are executed with remarkable precision.

Grüneisen’s abstraction is a pure emotional representation, where each viewer can find reference points belonging to their own intimacy.

The viewer is no longer forced to confront feelings of misunderstanding but always finds a vital space.

Color, precisely because it exists in itself, possesses a special beauty and eloquence, but only when used in its pure form.

Isabel’s paintings perfectly embody this approach. A single glance suffices to realize it.
