Jacovitti Exhibition Opens at Santa Giulia Museum in Brescia Through 2026

Brescia’s Santa Giulia Museum is hosting the exhibition “Mondi, Viaggi, Storie… e poi c’è Jacovitti” until February 15, 2026, showcasing 73 original illustrations from the La Scuola publishing archive. The exhibit highlights the evolution of Italian educational materials from the 1940s to the 1970s, including fairy tales, myths, and early scientific stories, reflecting a period of significant educational reform.

The display is divided into four thematic sections: children’s literature illustrations, scientific divulgation artwork featuring figures like Bruno Munari, religious education visuals curated by Marina Battigelli, and school manuals from notable authors. The exhibition also features a related retrospective on artist Guido Crepax, emphasizing the connection between educational art and Italian cultural history.
