The Vittoriale degli Italiani is preparing to host two new exhibitions that promise to fascinate visitors with a unique combination of painting and sculpture. The inauguration, scheduled for June 29th, will be a significant event as part of the “Vedi, vedi: queste sono le carte che ti volevo mostrare” exhibition. The exhibitions will remain open until October 15th, offering a wide timeframe to explore the works of Mauro Reggio and Paolo delle Monache.

Mauro Reggio: Viaggio sul Garda

Mauro Reggio presents fifteen works that capture the urban landscape of Lake Garda in an innovative way. His paintings, exhibited at the MAS (Museum of Sacred Art), depict spaces without human presence, highlighting geometries, architectures, and colors. This stylistic choice allows visitors to appreciate the intrinsic beauty of the depicted places.

Curator Marco Di Capua describes Reggio’s work as a “meticulous representation of the uninhabited,” highlighting how the absence of humans in his paintings paradoxically reveals a hunt for the invisible. The works use bold colors and mixed techniques to transform historical monuments through a contemporary filter. In addition to scenes from the Vittoriale, some canvases are dedicated to Rome, the artist’s hometown.

Diario tra Memoria e Oblio: Sculture di Paolo delle Monache

In the Park of the Vittoriale degli Italiani, five large sculptures by Paolo delle Monache will be exhibited. These works explore fragmented memory and the artist’s personal recollection, creating an evocative dialogue with the surrounding environment. The title of the exhibition arises from the fusion of the titles of two exhibited sculptures: “Diario” and “Tra Memoria e Oblio.”

Curated by Nicola Loi (Studio Copernico) with a critical text by Marco Meneguzzo, the exhibition focuses on the relationship between the sculptures and the architecture of the Vittoriale. Each work evokes familiar places and nostalgic feelings through a modular approach that invites visitors to reflect on their own memories.

The exhibitions are curated by President Giordano Bruno Guerri together with Marco Di Capua, and both are accompanied by catalogs edited by Il Cigno Arte. These events offer visitors a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in contemporary art in a historically significant cultural setting.
