Lake D’Annunzio Construction Begins as Trucks Dump Tunnel Waste into Water

Tomorrow marks the start: trucks emerging from the depths of the mountain will unload the tunnel waste material directly into the lake.

After the complex surveys carried out by technicians and receiving the «ok» from Trento, the preparation of the area was able to begin.

Throughout yesterday, in fact, workers and divers operated along the D’Annunzio lakeside promenade to facilitate the placement of the first boulders on the lakebed.

In addition, long lines of buoys, colored floats, and all necessary markers delimiting the area were deployed, preventing access by boats, swimmers, or surfers.

Next phases of work and traffic limitations

Tomorrow, the first of three expansions anticipated from the south will commence, covering approximately 80 square meters:

This concerns the area around the small beach below the staircases, south of the Casa Rossa, where the old water pumping station will serve as a diving platform.

With the disposal of material into the lake, heavy vehicles that until now crossed Riva to unload materials at Ceole will now travel only a few dozen meters within the construction site.

This also offers a significant advantage for city traffic.
