A surfer was rescued by the Fire Brigade yesterday afternoon, Monday, June 2, while in distress in the waters of Riva del Garda. The emergency call came shortly after 2 PM, when the weather conditions rapidly deteriorated, leading to increased agitation on the lake. The man was windsurfing when he experienced a sail malfunction, leaving him adrift and in serious trouble.
Thanks to the prompt intervention of the rescuers, the surfer was located and retrieved aboard a vessel. Although he sustained some superficial injuries to his feet, hospitalization was not required. This incident highlights the importance of closely monitoring weather forecasts before engaging in water activities, as the lake can be unpredictable even for the most experienced.
