Lake Garda Port Slip Allocation Disrupted as Municipalities Face Delays
The allocation plan for boat slips in the ports along the Brescia coast of Lake Garda is disrupted at several points. While some Municipalities have already finalized their waiting lists, as has happened in Sirmione, others are facing a situation that is nothing short of critical: this is the case for Limone, Desenzano, Salò, Manerba, and others.
Meanwhile, Gargnano has conducted a draw among the received applications (a total of around 180 for the three ports of Bogliaco, Villa, and Gargnano-municipality) and now needs to prepare the provisional ranking for allocation. The meeting, the Alta Garda Mountain Community secretariat announced, was scheduled for yesterday morning, March 19, in the Villa hall.
Tignale and Gardone Riviera, on the other hand, are already in order: after conducting the draws, the ranking has been posted for the required publication period. If no objections are received from excluded candidates, it will come into force, and the allocation process will proceed.
In Tignale, 21 moorings have been assigned (26 applications submitted), while in Gardone Riviera 30 (38 applications received). Salò, according to statements from the Community secretariat, is still lagging behind, but the draw date should be announced within a few days.
Comments and issues regarding the allocation process
“The overall situation of the ports,” states Beatrice Zambiasi, general secretary of the mountain community authority, “is very chaotic. We also noticed that many applications appear to be false. For these reasons, cross-checks will be carried out by surveillance bodies and municipal administrative staff.”
In Salò, the draw for applications received on the second allowable day for submitting requests will take place, as only fewer requests had arrived on the first day than the available moorings at the three ports: Sirena, lungolago, and Barbarano.
Elsewhere, the Municipalities have decided not to form a consortium. At Manerba, some users have complained to our newspaper, highlighting that, as of mid-March, they have yet to receive any response from the offices.
Despite having submitted their concession requests last August, they still cannot put their boats in the water. Furthermore, the Municipality announced that it has reopened the submission period for applications: a real mess.
And Easter is now approaching. The situation in Limone is even more uncertain. As reported by «Bresciaoggi», one month ago the Brescia Regional Administrative Court annulled the municipal resolution that set the criteria for assigning moorings in the two small ports, effectively accepting the reasons expressed by the owner of a taxi company, Luca Peroni, who had been suddenly deprived of two boat slips.
Similar situations and current delays
Similarly, in Padenghe, the resolution does not recognize the right of priority assignment to boatmen engaged in rental activities. The assignments there remain stalled. Likewise, in Desenzano, nearly 600 boat owners are anxiously awaiting the outcome of the “lottery” for boat slips. The Oreco, as is remembered, did not recognize any rights for those who already possessed a mooring buoy.
