The level of Lake Garda has reached 139.3 centimeters above the hydrological zero point in Peschiera, marking a significant increase compared to the 83 centimeters of the same period in 2023. This represents an increase of 56 centimeters and the highest level recorded in the last 29 years, with the exception of the record in May 2013 at +146 cm. The recent heavy rainfall and careful management of the levels by the Interregional Agency for the Po River (Aipo) have been decisive for this situation. Despite the maximum outflows allowed by the Salionze dam, the lake continues to rise, currently at 102.9% of its capacity.

The Garda Community has reassured that agriculture and tourism are not in danger and that the situation is under control. However, precautionary measures will remain in place until the level drops below 130 centimeters. Meanwhile, extraordinary maintenance interventions are scheduled for the Salionze dam, with an investment of 20 million euros financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr). These works will include seismic and structural adaptation of the dam and modernization of the electronic systems, with the start planned for next autumn after the irrigation season.
