On Saturday 7 November, two kinds of traffic disruption affect Lake Garda: a car park is closed in Albisano, a hamlet of Torri del Benaco, for the San Martino festival, and roadworks keep many streets on alternating one-way traffic in the lakeside towns, above all Lonato and Desenzano.
Festival closure in Albisano
The public car park in via San Zeno, in front of the cemetery, is closed to traffic and parking until 18 November for the San Martino festival. Cars left in the area risk being towed away. The organisers may enter and park with the vehicles used for the event.
Roadworks in Torri del Benaco and Desenzano
In Torri del Benaco, the road between via Giuseppe Mazzini and the Forno area is closed from 08:00 to 17:00 on Saturday while a construction crane is installed. Two traffic marshals are on site to manage traffic, and the contractor’s vehicles may pass through the area.
In Desenzano del Garda, the Cesare Battisti lakefront between via Desenzanino and via Malaguti, and via Minelli, are on alternating one-way traffic until 13 November from 07:00 to 18:00, with a 30 km/h speed limit. The work is on the pavements.
From 5 to 22 November, another site affects the Taverna area, where a stretch of road is controlled by a traffic light and limited to 30 km/h from 07:00 to 18:00 for a new electricity network.
Roadworks in Lonato del Garda
Lonato has the largest number of works on utility networks:
- Via Lavagnone, until 25 November: from 08:00 to 18:00 parking is banned with towing, and traffic runs on alternating one-way in the stretch downhill of number 35, for a sewer connection.
- Via Sirmione, via Benaco and via Sant’Anna, until 10 November: alternating one-way all day, with a transit ban whenever the carriageway is being crossed.
- Via Industria and via Aldo Moro, until 13 November: parking ban and alternating one-way all day.
- Via Fenil Nuovo Molini, near via Fenil Schena, until 16 November: alternating one-way while the water mains are rebuilt. At times the road may be closed completely.
Roadworks in Toscolano Maderno
In via Vigole, the parking ban with towing applies to numbers 5 to 10. Alternating one-way traffic is in force at number 78 for excavation and cable laying, from 08:30 on 5 November to 17:30 on 10 November, or until the work is finished.
