On Thursday 22 October, traffic around Lake Garda is affected mainly by roadworks on the Gardesana Orientale, where alternating one-way traffic applies on weekdays until 23 October, and by the closure of Via Po in Lazise, which stays in force until 30 October. Other worksites narrow or close roads in several towns on both the Veronese and Brescian shores.
Gardesana and main roads
On the Gardesana Orientale, alternating one-way traffic runs on weekdays from 6 to 20 until 23 October. The stretch between Bardolino and Brenzone has two worksites: one between kilometre 49 and 51 in Bardolino, the other between kilometre 69 and 75 in Brenzone sul Garda. Traffic is controlled by flaggers with paddles or by traffic lights.
The same arrangement applies on State Road 5 Verona-Lago, between Pastrengo and Lazise, from kilometre 5 to 9. On Provincial Road 31 in Bardolino, alternating one-way traffic affects the junction with Via Bardolina and Via Tre Contrè from 20 to 27 October, while a new traffic light system is installed.
Roadworks in the towns: Veronese shore
Lazise. The most extensive closure is Via Po, shut to vehicles from 8 on 21 October to 18 on 30 October, including weekends, for the replacement of the water network and connections. Emergency vehicles can still pass. In Via Confine, Via Venezia, Vicolo Confine, Via del Burlin and Via Derna, alternating one-way traffic with flaggers or traffic lights and a parking ban apply from 21 October to 6 November, from 7.30 to 18, holidays excluded, for fibre-optic cable works.
Bardolino. In Via Valsorda, between numbers 3 and 6, alternating one-way traffic is in place from 21 to 23 October.
Bussolengo. In Via Giovanni Pascoli, near number 19, traffic is banned in the worksite section from 7.30 to 18.30 until 23 October, with exceptions for residents and those with property access. The work is for a new water and sewer connection, and the nearby pedestrian and cycle path is closed.
Brenzone sul Garda. Maintenance and resurfacing work is under way in Via De Loc, in the hamlet of Assenza and in the Borago area from 19 to 30 October, from 7 to 19.
Castelnuovo del Garda. Alternating one-way traffic on the motorway overpass in Via San Lorenzo stays in force around the clock until 22 October, while the expansion joints are completed.
Malcesine. In Viale Roma at number 47, a dynamic no-transit rule applies on the marked stretch from 19 to 23 October, from 8 to 18, for excavation of a water connection.
Torri del Benaco. Via Negher is closed until Thursday 22 October, from 8.30 to 11.30 and from 13.30 to 17, except on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Worksite vehicles may pass, as a power line is being laid.
Roadworks in the towns: Brescian shore
Desenzano del Garda. In Via Giotto, between Via Zadei and Via Leonardo da Vinci, alternating one-way traffic applies from 21 to 30 October, from 8.30 to 18, excluding holidays and the days before them. Flaggers control traffic with a 30 km/h limit, so that trucks can park to load and unload materials. In Via Marconi, between Viale Andreis and Via Gramsci, traffic is banned at night, from 22 to 6, until 22 October, while electric cables are laid. Detours are signposted.
Lonato del Garda. There are three worksites. In Via Lavagnone, downhill of number 35, alternating one-way traffic and a parking ban apply from 12 to 23 October, from 8 to 18, for a sewer connection. In Via Rassica, between Via Isonzo and number 22, alternating one-way traffic and a parking ban with vehicle removal apply from 20 to 31 October, from 8 to 17. In Via Lazzaretto, traffic and parking are banned until 31 October, from 8.30 to 12 and from 13 to 18, except for residents and worksite vehicles, for a new electricity network.
Manerba del Garda. In Via Pascoli, alternating one-way traffic, a parking ban with vehicle removal and a 20 km/h limit are planned from 16 to 30 October, from 8 to 18, excluding holidays and the days before them.
Salò. In Via Brunati at number 35, alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers stays in place until 30 October, from 8.30 to 17.
Toscolano Maderno. Via Montana, from the junction with Piazza San Marco and State Road 45 bis up to number 9, is closed to traffic and parking from 7 on 22 October for 60 days, and in any case until the works on stormwater drainage are finished. Residents with property access can pass. In the same town, the Beato Josè Maria Escrivà lakeside promenade, near the small harbour between Via Religione and Viale Marconi, is closed from 7 on 19 October to 18 on 6 November. On holidays and the days before them it reopens to pedestrians and cyclists.
