Lake Garda Tourism Surges for May Day Weekend as Brescia-Area Hotels Sell Out
For the May Day weekend, Italy’s tourism turnover is estimated at almost 4 billion euros, with about 7.4 million Italians expected to travel over the long weekend. Alessandro Fantini, president of Federalberghi Brescia, says operators report essentially sold out across the main locations around Brescia’s lakes, supported by a steady influx of tourists from Central Europe.
Bookings for the Lake Iseo area indicate an average two-day stay, down from the same period last year due to the calendar (April 25 on Saturday and May 1 on Friday). The city’s occupancy remains moderate, with last-minute bookings being reported by operators.
