Lake Garda Transport Updates and Roadwork Extensions Effective January 8
Monday, January 8th, is a day of updates for those traveling on the northern part of the Gardesana and for those intending to use the ferry to Riva. La Navigarda announced a new schedule (valid from January 8th to January 21st) for the Limone-Riva service, established following the landslide at Rocchetta that – since December 22nd – has interrupted the road connection with Trentino.
The new timetable extends the previous one (which covered hours from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.), providing longer hours to facilitate those traveling for work. Here are the departures (arrival times in parentheses). Departures from Riva at 5:25 (arriving in Limone at 5:55); 6:45 (7:15); 8:05 (8:35); 9:25 (9:55); 10:45 (11:15); 12:05 (12:35); 13:30 (14:00); 15:00 (15:30); 17:00 (17:30); 19:00 (19:30); 21:30 (22:00); 23:30 (00:00).
From Limone, trips will start at 6:05 a.m. (from Riva at 6:35); 7:25 (7:55); 8:45 (9:15); 10:05 (10:35); 11:25 (11:55); 12:45 (13:15); 14:10 (14:40); 16:00 (16:30); 18:00 (18:30); 20:00 (20:30); 22:25 (22:55); 00:10 (00:40).
It should be noted that the first morning trip (departing from Riva at 5:25) and the one leaving Limone at 6:05 will only be available on weekdays. For any further information, contact the Navigation Company by calling 030/9149511 or the toll-free number 800551801; fax number is 030/9149520.
Road interventions and modifications
Here are the updates regarding lake crossings. On land, the work has begun in Toscolano Maderno, where a landslide in November had destroyed a wall. Workers have been on site for a couple of days now, restoring the structure.
Also from Monday the 8th, Forbisicle (south of Campione) will see traffic closures from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The interruption will last several weeks to allow for the completion of the works, which were suspended for the holidays.
Additionally, at Nanzel (landslide just south of Limone), new hours will be implemented. On Monday and Tuesday, passage will be allowed from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., and 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Outside these times (including night), the road will remain closed.
Meetings and technical inspections
Meanwhile, the meeting scheduled for next Tuesday in Trento (Autonomous Province, with mayors of Limone and Riva) will not be the only one. A site inspection by Anas technicians from Rome is also planned for the same day. Further developments may thus be expected.
