Lake Garda Water Quality and Preservation Efforts Post-Summer

After the summer season, Sommerservice, the environmental information service initiated by the Comunità del Garda, concluded successfully.

The initiative was supported by various entities, including Enit, the Regione Lombardia, and the Provincia di Trento. Crucial to its success was the collaboration with the German ADAC, which, as every year, sent a biologist from the biology institute of Constance to Lake Garda.

The expert coordinated the dissemination of information to the German Automobile Club. Scientific contributions also came from environmental protection companies from the three riviera regions.

Water preservation and communication to tourists

Throughout the summer, the positive trend in the water quality of the numerous bathing zones along Lake Garda was confirmed, a trend already noted in 1999.

This optimal situation was published in weekly bulletins, which, when compared to European limits, were distributed among the German-speaking tourist population, not only in Germany but also in Austria and Switzerland.

The Comunità del Garda offices will continue to provide tourist secretarial services in the coming months. These are carried out through telephone information provided by the offices of the lake authority.
