Lake Garda’s Easter and Vinitaly Events Boost Tourism and Culture
It is Vinitaly, this year, that kicks off the tourist season on Lake Garda. Many hotels in the middle and lower lake areas are currently experiencing full bookings, coinciding with the international wine and spirits fair.
This high occupancy will continue, expanding throughout the entire lake district, then with the Easter holidays, with the decline only beginning in mid-April, after the Easter Monday celebrations.
This presents an opportunity for the broad resumption of a series of popular events and tourist entertainment.
Literary and Music Events
Today. A literary meeting at 6 pm at the central bar in Piazza Matteotti in Bardolino with Giorgio Avanzini and Stefano Joppi, authors of the book «Bardolino Images of the Twentieth Century». Romano Brusco, the municipality’s cultural delegate, will introduce the topic with his celebrated poetry.
An Easter concert will be held in Lazise, moved up to this evening (8:45 pm), at the parish church, performed by students from the Conservatorio di musica «Arrigo Pedrollo» of Vicenza, directed by Claudio Martignon. The program will feature music by Vivaldi, Piazzolla, Britten, and Haydn.
Sacred music also in Riva, with a concert by the Gruppo Polifonico Claudio Monteverdi, «Passione secondo Giovanni», at 8:30 pm in the Santa Maria Assunta church. Meanwhile, at the conservatory auditorium at 9 pm, the musical evening «The Wagner Case» will take place, featuring works by Nieztsche, closing the conference and exhibition «Contemporary and Unconventional Thought of Friedrich Nietzsche».
At Fort Nago, at 8:30 pm, there will be readings with musical accompaniment titled «Ecclesiae», dedicated to the churches of Sommolago.
Program of Events for Easter
Tomorrow. The concert of the music band from the Finnish city of Kuopio will be held at 4 pm in Piazza Betteloni. In case of bad weather, the event will move to the sports hall.
Following will be a series of initiatives in Castelnuovo to commemorate the historic tragedy of the «April 11, 1848» massacre. In Brenzone, an international Snipe class regatta will take place.
A sacred music concert will be held in Malcesine, at the parish church, at 8:30 pm, by the Gruppo Polifonico Claudio Monteverdi, directed by Stefano Sacher. In Riva, the international band competition «sesto Flicorno d’oro» will take place, with an opening concert at 9 pm at the San Giuseppe auditorium, organized by the civica banda musicale of Padova.
In Arco, at 9 pm, a concert will be held at the Municipal Casino featuring the Camerata musicale Città di Arco. In Bardolino, a spiritual concert by the Filarmonica will take place at 9 pm.
Sunday and Easter Events
On Sunday, the «Porsche Tag» will be held in Peschiera, organized by the Club Peschiera motori, featuring an art exhibition «Peschiera e il suo lago» by Arcilens artists, at the library in Piazza San Marco, from 5 pm to 9 pm.
In Caprino, «Saperi & Sapori» will take place: a walk through neighborhoods, narrow streets, courtyards, churches, and stops with tastings.
For Easter, in Brenzone, a concert in the Parish Church of San Carlo in Castelletto will be held at 9 pm by the Orchestra Filarmonica di Verona, conducted by Daniela Candiotto. Performers will include tenor Gustavo Porta and baritone bass Nicolò Rigano, accompanied by the Marcelliano Marcello choir.
At Palameeting in Riva, a band concert will take place at 8:30 pm, and in the church of Sant’Anna ad Arco, at 9 pm, the vocal ensemble Città di Arco will perform for the musical Easter in Arco.
End of Program and Regattas
On Monday, four days of regattas will be held in Brenzone, organized by the Circolo Nautico.
