Lake Garda’s Shoreline Sees Banking Expansion and New Poste Italiane Services
The Veronese shoreline of Lake Garda is becoming one of the most sought-after areas by traditional and new-generation financial operators, linked to securities brokerage firms. To clarify, this includes banks and financial promoters. This is demonstrated by the new banking counters that have emerged in recent months along the lake area, mainly rural savings banks, but also traditional credit banks.
Expansion of postal services on Lake Garda
The postal network is equally active. Since **Poste Italiane** transformed into a joint-stock company, thus becoming a private enterprise focused on profit and the bottom line, it has spared no effort to capture market share.
In recent months, following a major tourism event, Poste Italiane has entered the fray in an attempt to attract more clients, including those who have traditionally maintained relationships with banks. Thus, the Postamat has also appeared on the lake — the counterpart of the ATM, widely known as the machine that dispenses cash, pays bills, and reloads mobile phones.
In the past few days, the new automatic machines, as called by the post office, have been installed in some of the most important offices along the shoreline. Others will be placed during the winter, ready to be operational throughout the Garda territory by Easter, or at the latest, by the start of the new tourist season.
The first were installed in Peschiera del Garda, at Viale Venezia 25, and in Bardolino, at Via Madonnina 1. Recently, the installation of one in Malcesine was completed, though it is not yet operational. «We should start by November 10,» assured director Laura Fassina, who is enthusiastic about the new structure and the new direction the postal company is taking.
As for the Garda post office, there are no plans yet, as it will soon be renovated, and only then will the Postamat be installed. During the renovation, according to an employee, the office will relocate to a caravan so as to maintain at least the basic services for Garda citizens.
No Postamat will be available in Lazise, Torri, and Brenzone. The cash withdrawal service from machines at postal offices across the national territory is free, while abroad it costs 5,000 lire per withdrawal. Cardholders can also operate at the post office or withdraw from banking ATMs, paying a fee of 3,000 lire per transaction, similar to operations at other banking institutions in the network.
Opinions and perspectives on the new services
«The service, operational since September 25 here in Peschiera del Garda,» states an employee, «was immediately well received by the increasingly expanding clientele. We hope that other cash withdrawal services will soon follow, in line with what the banking system already offers.»
Therefore, Poste Italiane is now aligned with current trends and in step with the European market. A new era for the postal service is beginning — one focused on market needs and offering users better services at lower costs.
