The redesign of the lakeside in Desenzano is nearing completion, with plans to finalize public works by the summer of 2026. This project, anticipated for twenty years, has seen the second phase progress rapidly and is expected to be completed by late spring. Meanwhile, preparations for the third phase are already underway, which will extend from the Feltrinelli pier to the alley of the Lavandaie. Giovanni Maiolo, the public works assessor, announced that funding for the final stretch is expected to be secured by the end of this year, with the goal of awarding contracts during the summer and starting construction in the autumn.
Modifications to the Desenzano lakeside will include a widened promenade extending 10 meters towards the lake, new light granite Tonalite pavements, and blocks of red Verona stone. The project also plans to incorporate a pedestrian and cycling path, along with a tree-lined avenue featuring new furnishings and lighting. The estimated cost of the second phase is 3.685 million euros, with 2 million coming from the Region and the remainder funded by the Municipality. A significant change will involve the historic Feltrinelli beach, which will be demolished and rebuilt in wood.
