Sirmione, a prompt intervention by the Basso Garda Civil Protection has saved the life of a father and his six-year-old son, who were in distress off the Giamaica beach. The incident occurred on Sunday, August 11, when the Milanese family, after renting a boat, jumped into the water. The father suffered a medical emergency while in the sea with his child, who began to call for help.
Volunteers Matias, Michele, and Davide, aboard the Scirocco, noticed the critical situation and immediately jumped into the water to assist them. While the child was brought back to safety without injuries, the father required medical attention after inhaling a significant amount of water. Both were transferred to the hospital after being taken to the Sirmione harbor by the Red Cross’s water ambulance. Local authorities expressed satisfaction with the successful rescue and emphasized the importance of the safety service activated in the area.
