On April 27 and 28, 2025, **Lazise** will host the **Irresistibile PIWI** event, dedicated to **resistant grape varieties** and sustainable **food and wine**. The event will take place at the historic Dogana Veneta and will feature industry experts, including winemakers Luca De Palma and Igor Bonvento, who will guide visitors on a journey to discover innovations in the wine world. PIWI wines, resulting from selective crossings designed to resist diseases such as downy mildew and powdery mildew, represent a response to contemporary climate challenges, promising high quality with a reduced environmental impact.
Additionally, on April 28, there will be a conference titled “Sustainable Viticulture – Genetics, Cultivation Techniques, and Biodiversity,” moderated by Alessandra Biondi Bartolini. This meeting will provide insights into new cultivation techniques and the importance of biodiversity in viticulture. The event will not only allow attendees to taste various types of resistant wines but will also serve as an important opportunity to explore the potential offered by PIWI grape varieties in an increasingly sustainability-oriented context.
