Lazise Receives €1 Billion for Dogana Veneta Restoration

The Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Verona has allocated, within the framework of the program for the conservation and enhancement of historical, artistic, and environmental assets, a contribution of one billion euros to the Comune lacisiense.

Start of Work and Thanks

“This is a particularly satisfying moment,” states Mayor Luca Sebastiano. “Not only for the Municipal Administration but for the entire community, as we finally see our efforts crowned by a definitive and approved project for the recovery of the Dogana Veneta, a cherished asset for all Lacise residents.

After its closure to the public for structural reasons about two years ago, and thanks to the latest excellent news from Fondazione Cariverona, the financial issue has also been partly overcome.

“In a few months,” Sebastiano emphasizes, “it will be possible to begin the interventions planned in the first phase of the work, which involve the restoration and structural consolidation of the building, with a cost of about two billion euros.

I feel obliged to publicly thank everyone who has contributed, especially Engineer Paolo Biasi and Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio, for their substantial contribution to restoring a historic asset that has occupied a very important role for the population of Lazise for over seven centuries.”
