A month of alternating one-way traffic on the Gardesana is about to begin, further complicating the traffic situation on the Gardesana due to construction work for the Lake Garda Cycle Path. Starting today, Monday, May 5, and lasting until May 28, the section between the Titans Tunnel and the Gola area will be affected by this measure from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The decision, made by the Autonomous Province of Trento, has sparked strong criticism from the Municipality of Limone sul Garda, which has formally expressed its disagreement through an official communication addressed to various relevant authorities.
The mayor of Limone, Franceschino Risatti, described the implementation of alternating one-way traffic during the peak tourist season as “inconceivable,” emphasizing that this could cause significant disruption to vehicular traffic and have negative repercussions on the local economy. Risatti drew attention to the volume of traffic recorded in the previous days and highlighted the already challenging conditions caused by the closure of the Forra road.
