Limone sul Garda continues to assert its leadership in the Italian tourism landscape, ranking first in the classification for tourism value added per capita, according to the study “The Wealth of Tourist Municipalities 2025” published on August 8 by Sociometrica. With only 1,170 inhabitants, each resident benefits on average from an impressive 241,000 euros generated by tourism, highlighting how small municipalities with high-quality offerings can achieve extraordinary results. The report also emphasizes the presence of six municipalities from the Brescia region among the top 209 for tourism value, with locations such as Sirmione and Desenzano standing out at the regional level.
Furthermore, tourism represents a fundamental component of the local economy, contributing up to 80% of the economic impact in specialized areas like those around Lake Garda. The coordinator of Confesercenti Lago di Garda, Andrea Maggioni, stated that the total value generated by the seven Brescia municipalities amounts to 1.45 billion euros. When considering all 14 municipalities around Lake Garda across the three involved regions, this figure rises to 4.79 billion euros, placing the “Garda system” second among Italian tourist destinations. However, this growth brings new challenges that require targeted investments to ensure sustainable development in the sector.
