Limone sul Garda has recently been awarded the Purple Flag, a prestigious accolade that celebrates Italian municipalities dedicated to improving accessibility for people with disabilities. The award ceremony took place yesterday, Friday, May 23, in the presence of various members of the municipal administration, including Mayor Franceschino Risatti and Deputy Mayor Antonio Martinelli. During the event, the numerous initiatives undertaken over the years to make public spaces and buildings accessible were highlighted, even in areas characterized by complex terrain.
The administration emphasized that the Purple Flag represents a significant achievement, but not a final destination; indeed, efforts will continue to ensure that everyone has the right to live in and explore the beauty of Limone sul Garda. Roberto Bazzano, the president of the Purple Flag initiative, expressed appreciation for the municipality’s efforts in overcoming the challenges related to the area’s accessibility.
