On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 25, the lifeless body of a man, apparently in his thirties, was recovered from the waters of Lake Garda, beneath the Rocca di Manerba. The report to the Coast Guard Operations Room promptly activated rescue efforts, with the unit GC A58 responding to the scene. Despite attempts by a maritime rescuer to reach the body, every effort proved futile, as the man was already deceased.
The corpse was transported aboard a second Coast Guard patrol boat and taken to the small port of Dusano. Carabinieri and officers from the Local Police of Valtènesi also arrived at the scene to initiate the necessary investigations to clarify the circumstances of the incident and identify the victim, who remains unknown at this time. The emergency medical personnel who arrived on site could only confirm the death. Authorities are considering various hypotheses to determine whether this was a tragic accident or a voluntary act.
