Environmental associations **Italia Nostra Trentino**, **Ledro Inselberg**, and **Wwf Trentino** have submitted a new complaint to the Court of Auditors, denouncing the costs deemed “astronomical” of the **Ciclovia Limone sul Garda**. On Thursday, January 9, the organizations highlighted how the western Trentino section of 5.5 km has reached a figure exceeding 84 million euros, with a cost per kilometer that surpasses 15 million, well above the national average benchmark. This increase has been accompanied by concerns regarding the sustainability of the project and the management of public resources.
The complaint refers to issues already flagged by the Court of Auditors concerning the management of funds for tourist cycle paths, denouncing a lack of transparency and inconsistencies in costs. Despite previous recommendations, the Provincial Council has approved additional allocations for updating prices and project charges. The associations propose more sustainable and economical alternatives, such as using boats to connect the affected areas, suggesting that this solution could ensure more efficient mobility without burdening public resources and the environment.
