Limone Trucks Transport Rock for Landfill, Mayor Assures Safety
The large construction trucks have begun transporting back and forth between Gardesana and the landfill, accompanied by the recommendation to drive carefully due to the disruptions they cause in the urban area along the avenues Canella, Madruzzo, Pernici, and Chiesa. Mayor Battista Martinelli assures that «Limone will do its part in disposing of the excavation rock», even if this requires him to sign an ordinance permitting, due to the urgent nature, the discharge of the rocky material into the lake: «a teaspoonful into a bathtub». Limone has already mapped out the routes: the trucks will exit from the southern entrance of the tunnel, head toward the town until reaching a turnout large enough to allow them to reverse direction. They will then ascend back, unload into the lake before the border, and continue to return, ready for loading again. The risk of «Limone» rock ending up in Trentino territory is avoided.
