In Lombardy, it will also be possible to deposit advance directives at healthcare facilities. Lombard citizens can now express their wishes regarding future medical treatments directly at hospitals and other healthcare institutions, thanks to the approval of an Agenda Item during the Regional Budget Session. This measure, signed by Paladini and Palestra of the Civic Pact and supported by the Luca Coscioni Association, allows for the deposit of Advance Treatment Declarations (DAT) in these locations, overcoming the current limitation that only permits deposits at the municipality of residence or with a notary.
Cristiana Zerosi, coordinator of the Luca Coscioni Association in Lombardy, emphasized the significance of this initiative, highlighting that the allocation of 100,000 euros for communication represents a substantial step toward greater accessibility to advance directives in the region. The association will continue to monitor the implementation of this measure to ensure that citizens can fully exercise their right to self-determination regarding future medical treatments.
