Local Council Approves 2001 Budget Amid Opposition Protest

Approved solely by the votes of the majority, the 2001 budget forecast. The opposition chose to abstain in protest against the lack of involvement of the group on the preliminary project for the renovation of Piazza Statuto and Corso Garibaldi.

In their statement, the minority expressed their regret and “the conviction of being once again excluded from fair discussion and debate on a project, already presented to the representatives of the Hotel and Merchant Association, which involves the entire community”.

Criticism of the proposal method for the project

“It is solely a matter of timing, considering that the preliminary project was delivered to the Municipality only on February 27. I intended to present it to the minority already on Thursday, but in the preparatory meeting for the Council, there was only one representative from the opposition.
