Local Initiative Supports Vulnerable Groups in Cornuda Toward Social Inclusion
Start of the Agreement and Participants
On early June 1996, a convention was held in the hall of the Casa Sociale of Cornuda for signing a project aimed at supporting the most vulnerable social groups. Some representatives of local political and social forces participated in the event, including the mayor, representatives of the neighborhood association, and various volunteering organizations.
Objectives and Funding
The project, which will last two years, mainly aims to improve the living conditions of elderly and disabled residents in the municipality. The total amount allocated for the initiative amounts to approximately one hundred thousand euros, funded by regional and European community funds.
Activities and Expected Goals
The activities include home care services, psychological support, training courses, and socialization opportunities for the target groups. Additionally, social transport will be enhanced, and listening and gathering centers will be established.
