Lombardy Approves Commercial Districts Grant Program in Milan
Lombardy’s Regional Government has approved funding criteria for the “Distretti del Commercio” initiative, aimed at supporting local economies and small businesses. The program offers grants covering 50% of project costs, with a maximum of €520,000 for flagship projects and €189,900 for standard projects, requiring a minimum investment of €300,000 from applicants. Funding is available to municipalities, mountain communities, and unions of municipalities involved in Urban or Diffuse Commerce Districts, with applications due within 60 days.
Eligible projects focus on area regeneration, service management, governance, and event organization. Municipalities are encouraged to allocate additional resources for business grants and can earn bonus points for safety-related interventions. Applications must be submitted through the regional platform by the lead entity, with the initiative developed in coordination with ANCI Lombardia and local trade associations.
