The Lombardy Region has allocated over 5 million euros to support historical activities in the regional territory. This funding is intended for shops, venues, and artisan workshops that have been operating continuously for at least 40 years.

The “Historical Enterprises Towards the Future 2024” call for proposals has been opened, promoted by the regional councilor for Economic Development, Guido Guidesi. The initiative aims to support Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) registered in the regional list who intend to make investments for various purposes: generational turnover and business transmission, premises redevelopment, restoration and conservation, and innovation.

The goal of the Lombardy Region is to support shops and small businesses that are a fundamental element in the territorial fabric, offering quality services and employment. The call for proposals offers concrete support to promote renewal processes and generational transition. Historical activities are considered true custodians of Lombardy’s identity and contribute to its economic and social success.

The incentives provided consist of a non-repayable grant of up to 50% of eligible expenses. The maximum contribution is 30,000 euros, while the minimum investment required is 5,000 euros.

To participate in the Lombardy Region’s call for historical activities, candidate projects and related grant applications must be submitted electronically through the Unioncamere Lombardia website by May 31, 2024. For further information, it is possible to consult the dedicated website for businesses in the Lombardy Region in the “New Opportunities” section.
