Lombardy Regional Government: New Giunta Includes 8 New Members
There are 8 new entries, including two from Lega Nord, in the composition of the new Giunta della Regione Lombardia, announced last night by Roberto Formigoni (names and positions in the table above).
Two Brescians are part of the Giunta: Agriculture Commissioner and Vice President of the Giunta, Viviana Beccalossi (An, new entry, previously Vice President of the Council).
Commissioner for Environmental Quality, Franco Nicoli Cristiani (FI, confirmed). The only commissioners who retain the same portfolios as in the previous legislature are: Bertani for Health, Nicoli Cristiani for Environment, and Moneta for Territory.
Number and allocation of commissioner roles
The newly formed Giunta, officially announced last night, includes one additional commissioner (resulting from the redistribution of delegations) compared to the previous Formigoni Giunta (16 instead of 15).
The Lega Nord, which during the electoral campaign had been told by Bossi that they would not request commissioners, has two: the Commissioner for Culture, Identity, and Autonomy of Lombardy, Ettore Albertoni, and the Commissioner for Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Cooperation, Massimo Zanello.
AP has three commissioners, whereas before it had four, but it gains the vice presidency of the Giunta through the Agriculture Commissioner, assigned to Viviana Beccalossi, who previously served as Vice President of the Regional Council.
Political presence and female representation
The representation of Forza Italia members in the new Giunta increases to 10, compared to 9 in the previous legislature: Forza Italia member Romano Colozzi is the Commissioner for Relations with the Regional Council and Institutional Affairs, and one of the new entrants to the Giunta.
The CCD maintains one commissioner, Milena Bertani.
The female presence remains at two commissioners: Milena Bertani continues to serve, while Viviana Beccalossi has replaced Elena Gazzola.
