Lombardy Wine and Culinary Scene: Challenges and Opportunities Ahead of 2026
During a press conference on December 16 at Palazzo Pirelli, officials including Alessandro Beduschi, Debora Massari, and Giovanna Prandini of AsCoViLo urged the public to celebrate the upcoming holiday season with Lombard wine. The event highlighted the significance of wine for the reputation and economy of Lombardy, with over 3,000 regional wineries preparing to tackle upcoming challenges, backed by a substantial promotion budget of ten million euros.
Massari emphasized that wine will play a central role in representing Lombardy to the world during the festivities, while Beduschi announced strategic investments to assist wineries in international markets. The 2025 grape harvest has shown promising quality, although production levels remain below the average of previous years. Prandini stressed the need for a modern business culture and collaboration among consortia and producers to navigate the complexities of the wine market.
