Lombardy Wine Tourism Boom Brings 70,000 Visitors for Cantine Aperte

Cantine Aperte in Lombardia: an Unprecedented Success

Throughout the region, the eighth edition of Cantine Aperte, held on Sunday, May 27, received an overwhelming response: 70,000 visits to wineries. The event recorded a significant increase in visitors, who demonstrated a great interest, respect, expertise, and passion for the world of wine and its territory, confirming growing approval for this new form of tourism.

This year, Lombardy played a major role in the overall results of Cantine Aperte at the national level: across Italy, in fact, the ‘guests’ of the wineries totaled 920,000.

The Lombard wine production areas achieved success equal to or even greater than other more renowned or prestigious regions, and the public rewarded the high-quality work of producers and the strong media attention dedicated to the Movimento Turismo del Vino Lombardo.

Success of the “Calice MTVL Franciacorta” initiative

The “Calice MTVL Franciacorta” initiative also enjoyed great success, an exclusive keepsake created for Cantine Aperte day: wine tourists competed fiercely to keep one at the end of the day and to become ambassadors of the MTVL philosophy.

By 12:00 PM, the 5,000 personalized glasses were already sold out: this success surpassed all expectations, and the initiative, beyond being appreciated by visitors, was a pleasant surprise for everyone, transforming a simple idea into a collectible object.

The flows recorded in Franciacorta yesterday exceeded 30,000 visitors, a number that, considering the surface area of this charming and picturesque hilly region, testifies to a veritable ‘onslaught’ on the wineries…
