Lonato-Based Feralpi Group Named Among 2026 Sustainability Leaders by Il Sole 24 Ore

Feralpi Group, one of Europe’s leading steel producers based in Lonato del Garda, has been named to Il Sole 24 Ore’s “Leaders of Sustainability 2026” list, compiled with Statista. The award, announced on May 20, 2026, honors the group’s ongoing sustainable transition in the steel sector, highlighting investments, innovation, and a focus on people and local communities.

The ranking assesses Italian companies on ESG indicators using data from financial statements and sustainability reports; only two steel groups are included, with Feralpi among them. The Group’s strategy emphasizes investments in energy efficiency, decarbonisation of production, and circular economy, embedding sustainability across its industrial plan even as Omnibus regulation eases certain reporting requirements.

Isabella Manfredi, Chief Sustainability & Communications Officer, said the recognition confirms years of coherent effort: investing in sustainability means investing in the industry’s future, the group’s competitiveness, and shared value for territories and stakeholders. She added that decarbonisation remains the roadmap, with concrete actions already implemented to increase renewable energy use, improve process energy efficiency, and reduce emissions and waste.
