The dairy cooperative Gardalatte recently held its annual meeting in Lonato del Garda on April 28, presenting a record budget for 2024. President Valter Giacomelli highlighted how the international success of Grana Padano has significantly contributed to the company’s performance, with an 11% increase in the average price compared to 2023 and a 3% rise in milk deliveries, reaching 1.220 million quintals. Sales of Grana Padano exceeded 157,000 wheels, while the payout to members will be 72 cents per liter.
In the three-year period from 2024 to 2026, Gardalatte plans to invest over 10 million euros, supported by funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), aimed at making operations more sustainable and improving working conditions. Giacomelli emphasized the importance of entrepreneurial cooperation in ensuring fair economic returns for members and addressing future challenges related to external factors such as international tariffs. The cooperative is thus committed to strengthening its presence in foreign markets to further enhance the value of its premium products.
